A Würstelstand is the first port of call for a quick snack between meals or to satisfy those late-night cravings after a party. Since 2024, the Würstelstände have even been on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage.

Spend an afternoon at a Heuriger

The right of wine growers to serve their own wine in their own house without a special license goes back to 1784. Viennese people usually vist Heurige from the afternoon until the evening to have a snack or dinner and some glasses of wine in good company. Heurige are located on the outskirts of Vienna, in the 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th district, but can usually be reached by public transport.
